Merry Christmas to you and Loretta, Charles. Tell Loretta the second photo may have had the intended effect; I laughed aloud when I saw the expression in that one’s eyes.
I was interested to see the apples on your tree. I suspect you know they’re a very old tradition that dates back to the time when Paradise trees honoring Adam and Eve existed in tandem with Christmas trees. Maybe earlier. In any event, I hang them, too — my first was a gift from a German friend who told me about the tradition.
They’re a lovely reminder of The Apple Store, as well. Now that I have wheels again, I hope to make it over that way in the spring. When I saw the profusion of mountain laurel plants at Lost Maples, I knew that it was a place for all seasons.
And a wonderful Merry Christmas to you, too, Linda. Turk is a pro at making us laugh and it looks like he worked his magic on you as well. We’ve hung those apples for many years and they are particularly useful these days – they are safe ornaments for the cats to bat down and chase around the room.
It’s good to know your wheels rolled all the way back home. Let us know when you are back this way. I’ll keep an eye on the mountain laurels up here and let you know when they are blooming.
