Feral Cat Fridays: Turk And The Masters

A few years ago I taught formerly-feral-now-housecat Turk to appreciate watching golf and the Masters is the best there is. He reminded me the delayed, only time in history played in November, 2020 Masters is on now.

Turk investigates the equipment

We both have our priorities. We’ll be back to our regular programming next Friday.

Ha! When I heard on radio today that the Master’s was on, I thought of you. I had no doubt you’d be watching. I had to go all the way to #19 on the leaderboard to find a name I recognized: Mickelson. That makes sense, since watching golf regularly with my mother ended nine years ago. There clearly are plenty of new up-and-comers.

There has been a lot of turnover in the big names during the past 9 years. But your mother would recognize the guy currently 4 strokes back – Tiger Woods is still hanging in there, even though 4 strokes behind is a tie for 17th because the leaderboard is so tightly packed. It is really interesting (at least to a Masters addict like me) to see the course in the fall and without fans. You get an idea of what it would be like to play the course under “normal” circumstances, if Augusta National could ever be put in the same sentence as “normal.” I’m looking forward to a great weekend, with the top 3 players in the world a part of a 5-way tie for the lead as of right now. Just for your reference, the top 3 these days are Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, and Justin Thomas. Your mother would have really enjoyed it.
