Photograph something you love in a way that gives you joy, or challenges you, or wakes you up to how amazing life can be, because if you don’t feel it, not only will no one else feel it, but what’s the point? — From The Contact Sheet, October 18, 2020 by David duChemin. What great photos. Roadrunners crack me up. I managed to get a photo of one over at the Hunt store one day, but all I got in the frame was its tail as it sped away. Beep! Beep!

Fluff’s eyes and the blue sheen of the metal complement one another nicely.

We have many more roadrunner photo failures than successes, but every now and then one hangs out in the yard long enough for a few good shots through the window. Usually we just see them darting down the driveway and into the underbrush.

Fluff was very photogenic. Her blue eyes always stood out and her strabismus added a distinctive touch to her photos. She was also very calm and personable, so good shots were easy to find. If we made a short list of favorite cats in the colony, Fluff would be on it.
